Channel 4 - Famous and Fearless

Channel 4 is always looking for new and innovative ideas to add some extra spark to their show. For the case of Famous and Fearless, it was the highest bungee jump possible in the UK. 

Chris Evans and Clare Balding presented the Channel 4 show from 2 January 2011 that pushes celebrities to their limits in a series of extreme sports challenges.

John Thompson was the lucky contestant to prove to the nation that he truly was ‘Famous and Fearless’.

The UK Bungee Club operates a special event each year – a 400ft bungee jump located at the National Dive Centre, Chepstow, which proved to be perfect for the show. 

The UK Bungee crew put its experience in managing tv and film events into practice over the small window of time in which was allocated for John to jump and the cameras to get all of the shots and interviews that they needed.

The challenge was a great success and sparked interest for future shows and despite John appearing nervous, he jumped first time and promised he would be back for more!
